If manager subscribes to Theory X, it will employ methods that make work uninteresting, making workers non-ambitious, externally motivated, and avoiding responsibility. Thus, the manager will find more evidence that Theory X is correct.

If manager subscribes to Theory Y, it will make the work environment pleasant, so employees will be more intrinsically motivated. This manager will find more evidence that Theory Y is correct.
