Spiral Dynamics tries not to define a hierarchy. No stage is better or worse in absolute sense—it’s just a matter of fitting to life conditions.
That’s why stages are not numbered and use colors. It’s harder to argue that blue is better than red.
However, it is too easy for people to climb up the Spiral Dynamics ladder to green or yellow and believe they are somehow above others.
