📝Just-world hypothesis

Just-world hypothesis is a Cognitive Bias that assumes that good behavior deserves good outcomes, and bad behavior deserves to be punished. So when bad things happen to bad people, we think that’s their punishment.

This plays a role in rationalizing suffering of other people as “they deserve it.” (Reasoning is self-biased)

As a result, many people experience less vulnerability on the basis they didn’t do any bad to deserve negative outcomes.
