The Collector’s Fallacy • Zettelkasten Method

The idea of Collector’s Fallacy is that we tend to think that if we have a book or bookmarked an article, we have the knowledge in it. It is obviously not true.

This thinking drives us to collecting more and more books, bookmarks in browser, etc. and we can never keep up.

To cure collector’s fallacy, limit yourself to shorter cycles of research. Train yourself to processing books/articles as soon as you have them. This way you will soon get a sense of how fast you’re able to process data. (This idea is similar to Lean Thinking or Scrum sprints)
